Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the nation in grieving actor Arvind Trivedi, well known for his role as Raavan in the Ramayan film. From 1991 to 1996, he was also a member of Parliament. On Tuesday night, the actor died of a heart attack. He was 82 years old at the time. PM Modi shared a flashback photo of himself with the late actor on Twitter, writing: "We have lost Shri Arvind Trivedi, who was not only an exceptional actor but also was passionate about public service. For generations of Indians, he will be remembered for his work in the Ramayan TV serial." PM Modi, in a separate tweet, also wrote a eulogy for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Ghanashyam Nayak, who died earlier this week and added, "Condolences to the families and admirers of both actors. Om Shanti."

Ghanashyam Nayak, who died on Sunday evening, had been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and had fought the disease for a long time. PM Modi paid tribute to the actor on Twitter, writing: "Two wonderful actors who earned people's hearts through their work have passed away in the recent few days. Shri Ghanashyam Nayak will be remembered for his many parts, the most well-known of which was in the hit show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.' He was also exceedingly humble and kind." 

Arvind Trivedi also starred in the popular TV serial Vikram Aur Betaal in addition to Ramayan. He also appeared in Gujarati films such as Desh Re Joya Dada Pardesh Joya during his three-decade career.

Ghanashyam Nayak was best-known for playing the role of Nattu Kaka in the TV series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He starred in hundreds of movies, both in Bollywood and in the Gujarati film industry. Ghanashyam Nayak had also been a part of over 300 television shows.
