Pete Lau, the company's co-founder, hinted at the introduction of the OnePlus 9RT in a post on Weibo. Surprisingly, the executive's teaser also plainly exposes the name of the upcoming phone. According to previous rumours, the OnePlus 9RT would be released on October 15. As an upgrade to the existing OnePlus 9R, the new phone is expected to debut in India and China. The OnePlus 9RT is expected to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and a 120Hz display.

Pete Lau provided a brief history of the OnePlus T series on Weibo on Thursday, beginning with the debut of the OnePlus 3T in 2016 and ending with the OnePlus 8T. He hinted that, unlike previous models, the firm will release a T series phone with a new name, which is most likely a reference to the OnePlus 9RT.

The executive closes the teaser by stating that further information will be released on Friday. Meanwhile, Weibo threw cold water on the company's aspirations by revealing that the post was created with the OnePlus 9RT. This validates the phone's name, which has been circulating through the media.

The OnePlus 9RT has been rumoured as the company's next phone for nearly two months. It's expected to arrive in India and China later this month. Some certification sites also said that the OnePlus 9RT might be developed for the Indian and Chinese markets.

Price of the OnePlus 9RT (expected)
According to a recent estimate, the OnePlus 9RT would cost between CNY 2,000 (approximately Rs. 23,200) and CNY 3,000 (about Rs. 34,800). The phone is also rumoured to be available in three colours.

OnePlus 9RT specifications (expected)
The OnePlus 9RT is expected to include a Full-HD+ display with a hole-punch design and a 120Hz refresh rate, according to rumours. An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main camera sensor are reportedly expected on the phone. It's also supposed to run on Android 11 out of the box with ColorOS 12. In addition, the OnePlus 9RT could have a 4,500mAh battery and support for 65W fast charging.

Along with the OnePlus 9RT, OnePlus is rumoured to be working on a OnePlus 9RT Joint Edition, which could be released next month and will be unique to China.
