Juan Musso Of Atalanta Defies All Odds With A Stunning Point-Blank Reflex Save
UEFA Champions League – During Atalanta's 2-2 draw with Villarreal on Matchday 1, goalkeeper Juan Musso was the hero for his team.
Argentine goalkeeper Juan Musso made a fantastic point-blank reflex save for Atalanta during their Group F opener against Villarreal at the El Madrigal on the first day of the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League. With the score at 1-1 at the end of the first half, the 27-year-old denied Gerard Moreno from close range. Against all odds, the former Udinese goalkeeper instinctively parried away a point-blank header from the Spanish forward. The game finished in a 2-2 tie, with Atalanta owing some vital stops to their goalkeeper.
The highlight of Musso's save against Moreno is as follows:

Musso and another reaction stop from Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou were both chosen by the Champions League's official Instagram account. Fans backed both goalkeepers equally in the comments section, with Paris Saint-Germain striker Angel Di Maria opting for his national teammate over Bounou.
Apart from Musso's heroics, Atalanta's Remo Freuler scored in the sixth minute, followed by Robin Gosens' goal in the 83rd minute.
Meanwhile, Manu Trigueros scored for Villarreal in the 39th-minute and Arnaut Danjuma scored in the 73rd. Also, midfielder Francis Coquelin received a red card during the dying stages of the match.
Musso joined Atalanta in July 2021, after spending three seasons with Udinese. Before arriving in Italy, the goalkeeper plied his trade with Racing Club in Argentina. Having made his senior Argentina national team debut in March 2019 during a friendly against Morocco, Musso was part of the setup during his country's victorious Copa America campaign.
