Cricket fans were left unhappy as the fifth and final Test match between India and England in Manchester was called off just hours before the toss due to Covid fears. Lancashire Cricket, on the other hand, has conquered the internet with a gesture. After the Manchester Test was called off on Friday morning, the Lancashire Cricket Club gave the excess food to local charities (local time). The cricket club took to Twitter to reveal the news and wrote "@lancscricket has made a number of food donations within the local community following the cancellation of the fifth #ENGvIND Test Match @EmiratesOT."

Following an outbreak of Covid among the Indian team's contingent, the fifth Test had to be cancelled. In a statement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) indicated that it is working with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to locate a time when the cancelled Test match can be rescheduled.

"In light of the BCCI and ECB's excellent relationship, the BCCI has offered the ECB a rescheduling of the cancelled Test match," the statement read. "Both boards will endeavour to locate a time when this Test match may be rescheduled."
