The price of the Shiba Inu coin (SHIB) has increased substantially in recent days, reaching the 13th most valuable cryptocurrency by market capitalization at one time. Its value has more than tripled in the last week, and Elon Musk, the billionaire tycoon, is credited with the increase.

The desire for its inclusion in major cryptocurrency platforms is growing as a result of its quick rise. A petition circulated on Change.org, urging Robinhood cryptocurrency trading app to add the virtual coin, last night surpassed 200,000 endorsements. The demand spiked after the app added Shiba Inu coin‘s primary rival Dogecoin on its platform. The petition reads, "This petition is aimed to respectfully request of Robinhood to please list Shiba Inu coin to trade."

According to the petition, Dogecoin's integration with Robinhood was a success, and Shiba Inu is a "similar meme coin with true promise" that is gaining traction by the day. Shiba was recently listed on Binance, according to the company, and has done well for its consumers. "Let's make Robinhood the first traditional brokerage to join this bandwagon!" “Thank you,” it continued.

Shiba Inu is a “Dogecoin Killer” that wants to be an Ethereum-based replacement to the popular meme. It was launched in August 2020 by a mysterious founder known only as "Ryoshi." On October 1, it was worth $0.00000723 (Rs. 0.00054) and on October 7, it was worth $0.00003473 (Rs. 0.0026). However, some of that increase has faded, and at the time of writing, the SHIB price in India was around Rs. 0.0017 ($0.00002308).

A cryptic tweet by Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk on October 4 was widely credited for the coin's rapid surge. The cryptocurrency enthusiast, who has previously supported cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin and Dogecoin, had shared an image of his pet dog “Floki” enjoying the sunshine on a Tesla electric car. The image had caused quite a stir and many saw it as his endorsement of the new Shiba Inu coin.
